Jane in Bloom is on the Missouri Truman Nominee List for 2011-12, so I picked it up the day the list came out because it looked to be the shortest of the books listed. (I figure get through as many as possible as quickly as possible!)
Adore: It's a quick and easy read. Perfect for girls in middle school or late elementary. Since it's a tragic tale of 2 sisters struggling to find their place in the world, I think it will really speak to some girls while others might not get it at all.
Abhor: It's sad. Very, very sad. I also thought the conclusion was a bit forced, but perfect for teen lit.
Overall, I highly recommend it. The cover is attractive, and the length is perfect for girls who enjoy reading but aren't as into it as they were in elementary.
